Summer is finally here.\u00a0 It couldn’t get here fast enough for me.\u00a0 I finally get to spend my days exactly how I want to: with Alex.<\/p>\n

Alex is certainly getting to be a handful.\u00a0 The days of holding and rocking him all day are gone.\u00a0 He still isn’t crawling yet, but he seems close.\u00a0 He rolls all over the floor, and while on his stomach, he can turn himself around 360 degrees to face any direction he wants.\u00a0 Alex loves to stand up as well (with me holding him of course).\u00a0 He seems to love looking at the world from this new vantage point.\u00a0 He also discovered his feet.\u00a0 He plays with them constantly.\u00a0 Ah, to have the flexibility of a child!\u00a0 He has also moved up from the 4oz. bottles to the 8oz. bottles and gone from his size one diaper to size two.\u00a0 I can’t believe how big he is getting!<\/p>\n

On top of all that, he is getting his first tooth.\u00a0 It doesn’t seem to bother him too much yet, but he is sticking everything he possibly can into his mouth.<\/p>\n

We have had a very busy couple of weeks.\u00a0 Over Memorial Day Weekend, my friend Robbin came to stay with us and brought two of her children: her 7-year-old daughter, Riley, and her 8-month-old daughter, Olivia.\u00a0 We had\u00a0 a lot of fun together, and Alex watched jealously as Olivia crawled all over the place!<\/p>\n

Then last weekend we had our end-of-the-year school party at my friend Kacy’s house.\u00a0 Alex went swimming for the first time!\u00a0 I stayed in the water with him for about an hour and he seemed to enjoy himself.\u00a0 We are definitely going to do more swimming this summer at the city pool.\u00a0 I can’t wait!\u00a0 I hope he learns to love the water as much as I did when I was a kid.<\/p>\n
